VIHI IT Solutions is a startup focused on developing cloud-based insurance broker management systems. The company secured a contract with Delmage, one of Sri Lanka's largest insurance brokerage firms, to build a comprehensive client and operations management platform through modern cloud infrastructure.

  • Led DevOps and DevSecOps initiatives for a cloud-based insurance broker management system, ensuring secure and scalable infrastructure deployment.
  • Conducted client stakeholder meetings with Delmage's management team to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Collaborated with client's internal IT team to design and implement cloud infrastructure architecture, ensuring optimal performance and security compliance.
  • Architected software solutions and developed backend APIs to support broker operations and client management workflows.

  • Worked extensively with Oracle Database, including modifying PL/SQL business logic, .NET Core APIs, and JavaScript frontend.

Farmer Smart-AI-Driven Innovation for Effective Rice Farming Management

FarmerSmart App FarmerSmart App Rice Detection Quality Grading

This research project was developed to address key challenges faced by Sri Lankan rice farmers throughout the cultivation lifecycle. Conducted as a group of four members under the supervision of two university lecturers, the project aimed to provide farmers with a digital solution powered by deep learning and mobile technology.

The system focused on four major problems:

  • Seed Quality: Identifying and ensuring high-quality seeds before cultivation.
  • Disease Detection: Early detection of crop diseases during the growth stage to prevent widespread damage and provide tailored solutions.
  • Pest Infestation: Identifying pest attacks early to mitigate losses.
  • Post-Harvest Quality Assessment: Analyzing rice quality before entering the market to provide farmers with an accurate quality report.

Each problem was addressed using separate CNN-based machine learning models, which were integrated into a single mobile application. The solution achieved 94.5% accuracy in rice variety identification and 92.3% accuracy in rice quality grading. The application was built using React Native for the mobile frontend,Spring Boot for backend services, and MongoDB for data storage. The CNN models were integrated via a Flask-based web API.

My Contribution: Responsible for the disease detection component, developing and training the CNN model to identify crop diseases from images. Also contributed to backend integration, ensuring smooth communication between the mobile app, Flask API, and the database.
